Currently, the certificate management process relies on manual intervention via the "Console" UI tool, requiring users to manually select, generate, and install certificates (and their chains) for establishing mTLS connections between Connect and Exchange.
This process is prone to human error, restrictions on staff time and key man dependencies at both Interweave and Consumers / Providers which regularly results in data being unavailable to partners. By way of scale, excluding on boarding and new partner related items over 80 ICR issues or service requests have been raised last year
We propose integrating Automatic Certificate Management Environment (ACME) functionality into exchange and an expanded console dashboard to take significant steps towards eliminating manual actions in this process, provide an improved user experience to those involved in provider and consumer management, and prevent unnecessary data availability incidents.
