Kanos Adaptor

To enable documents to be provided from the Kainos System to support data provision from Sheffield Children's Hospital, we need an adaptor to be built to mediate between the standards employed by the YHCR and the specific technologies used to interact with the Kanos.

The YHCR standards requires that a data source be able to respond to searches and retrieval requests for atomic FHIR resources on a FHIR STU3 API compliant endpoint. It places requirements on security and audit policies applied by the data source. Data should be packaged in FHIR STU3 format and comply with a profile published for a maturity level for the data items supplied. Initial technical discussion suggests that the Kainos interface may not natively comply with all requirements - details of specifics are currently being collated.

following further discussion it has been decided that this adapter can be built in isolation by Synanetics if the customer is willing to except the quote and Synanetics will provide support for the product post-deployment

following PSG it was decided that, although this adapter has limited scope for deployment currently, Interweave should estimate the size of the build and report back. SYB have funding and the adapter could become part of the Interweave portfolio

To date the organisations I am working with in WY HCP do not use Kainos System. However going forward I will include Kainos in the engagement meetings.

We can discuss at Product Steering Group, essentially we need to understand who else may need a Kanos adapter in order to help with prioritisation
