The opportunity would be to create an emergency care dashboard.
Currently sites (starting with York) are themselves developing a dashboard such of this, linked to the Ambulance Transfer of Care messages. This dashboard lists patients in transit towards A&E, and then polls YAS via the YHCR to retrieve and update vital signs information about the patient. Thus enabling advance triaging and other preparations.
- Potentially the YHCR could offer a ready-made web page for this dashboard - rather than every A&E department having to develop their own
- It could no doubt be further enhanced (in consultation with A&E clinicians) to include other information from the YHCR that is useful about the patient - prioritised and focused on what A&E need to know (eg meds, allergies, EoL, safeguarding, etc)
No doubt the technology from the main YHCR Clinical Portal might be reused - but this is probably a separate website and focused on a list-view for A&E (maybe to show on a big-screen in the department). As opposed to searching for individual patient records
Ian, I really think this has legs. Each stage of the YAS ToC journey has gathered more interest and being able to supply an oven ready ED view to supplement whatever arrangements their ED already has would be eagerly received. Happy to set up some ED consultants in a workshop to test this out? Nigel
